NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held to receive testimony from the public regarding the Department of Environmental Management’s implementation of its inflation-indexed solid waste disposal fee adjustments for FY 24-25, pursuant to Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes Section 91-3(1). The change will affect the following section of the DEM Rules of Practice and Procedure (April 19, 2023 edition):

                        Rule 2-8-3 – Fee Schedule

Written Testimony:  Anyone wishing to provide testimony may do so by email to cohdem@hawaiicounty.gov, facsimile to (808) 961-8086, or by mail to the Department of Environmental Management, 345 Kekūanāoʻa Street, Suite 41, Hilo, Hawaiʻi 96720. Written comments will be accepted until July 3.

Oral Testimony: May be provided either in person or via Zoom.

In person: Those who want to provide oral testimony during the meeting may attend in person at the Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area, Dining Hall, 44-5400 Daniel K. Inouye Highway.

The proposed rules to be adopted will be emailed or mailed at no cost to any interested person who requests a copy by contacting Peter Sur at (808) 961-8099.  Copies of the proposed rules may be reviewed or obtained at the Department of Environmental Management, 345 Kekūanāoʻa Street, Suite 41, Hilo, Hawaiʻi 96720 between the hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or through emailing the department at cohdem@hawaiicounty.gov.
