Pet overpopulation is a substantial issue on Hawai’i Island, County and the Animal Control and Protection Agency is working closely with our partner organizations to ensure that every animal that are transferred to our partner agencies are spayed and neutered before they are available for foster or adoption.  We encourage all responsible pet owners to have their animal spayed or neutered to help do their part in controlling the overpopulation of animals on the island.
